So, 2026. January. That happened. If you don’t know what I am talking about, lucky you. Hard to focus, but – truth be told (pun intended) – my general idea hasn’t changed much. My presentation, though, has gone through some iterations, believe me. And the questions have only become more relevant. So, I am happy with the episode as is.
As for resources on the three thinkers I included, go to the other episodes and their pages – Arendt, Havel and Foucault are explained in more detail there. For this episode, I have chosen resources that might be fun to listen to afterwards and take all this further.
Now, the first one might appear strange at first. But I love this TEDtalk by David Finnigan. Precisely because he is not researching this, but talks about how he changed his idea of what it means to truly believe in climate change. Or what it means to live in a lie about it. Very illuminating.
The second one is a recent speech by Mike Carney on foreign policy. A take, on Havel, that might change the way of the world. I would like to say, though, that my use of Havel precedes Carney’s, so I call dips ;-).
And, because I think despite some disagreements I have, this a great book, I recommend Rutger Bregmans “Moral Ambition” to anyone who has not read it. Do that. In a strange way, it is about living in truth.
